A year ago, both my friend Perla, and I had babies, 10 days apart. Fifteen months later, they seem to be twins separated at birth with the same habits.
The last few days, Maya has been awake through the night, keeping us up past our bedtime and nothing settles her. She's had lots of boogers and we were assuming she was sick. Waking up hourly because she couldn't breathe, I found the only thing that would console her was to be snuggled. On thurs night, it was 1230am, and lo and behold, Maya was awake. Martin thought it would be best to just bring her to the bed, where she might just fall asleep. When we brought her to the room, lie her on our bed, she pulls her paci out, making the same noise Maggie Simpson makes, and says loudly "HIIIIIIIII!" It was as if she found her second wind. Started yapping her entire vocabulary, from balloooooon to rubbing her daddy's face and saying "luuuuh you!" Lord help me. I had work at 7am. I knew I was going to be hurting. After about an hour of her playing in our bed, Martin finally took her to her bed, and she finally went to sleep. ONE THIRTY IN THE MORNING! What the hell is wrong with my kid? Where does she find her energy? I wanted to cry, but giggle at the same time.
Going back to my friend and her baby - so she happened to mention to me that Aliyah has been not wanting to sleep in her crib. I couldn't believe it. They are telepathically telling each other, "let's keep our momma's awake!" She said it had been roughly 3 days. But the most interesting information from our conversation was their teeth. Perla said that Aliyah had 4 teeth on top, 2 on the bottom and one molar. WHAT? Rewind. Just last week I saw that Maya had a molar creep out of the cuts and I had no idea she had a molar until she was lying in bed laughing. So when my friend tells me that her daughter has the same number of teeth, I couldn't believe it. Come to find out, the molar Aliyah has is ON THE RIGHT SIDE!! Like Maya's molar. Is this normal? Or just coincidence? I am amazed. We jokingly said these girls would be trouble as pay back for our behavior when we were teens, but this is just ridiculous. It's too dang early! I can't handle this craziness. Not yet, girls. NOT YET!
